It’s easy to reach the Meazza - San Siro Stadium from our hotel

At a short walking distance from the Hotel Canada in the centre of Milan it is possible to get on a tram that takes you to the San Siro Stadium, a veritable temple for football fans, in just a few minutes. Here you can watch the most important matches played by the teams that struggle to win the love of the city’s supporters: Inter and Milan.

The San Siro Stadium is an important backdrop for numerous events. Not only does it host Italian Championship and international football matches but also concerts and musical events by world-renowned artists who chose this structure as the Italian location for their tours. In particular, in recent years the San Siro Stadium has had the honour of hosting bands such as the U2, Oasis, Depeche Mode, Madonna and many others.

The Milan stadium has a capacity of about 85,000 seats and is known by two different names: the San Siro Stadium and the Giuseppe Meazza stadium. The first name is linked to the neighbourhood in which the work for the stadium began while the second name was given to it in remembrance of a famous football player of the Inter team.

Its great seating capacity ensures a striking optical and acoustic effect both during football matches and concerts. Thousands of voices blend and repeat themselves in songs and slogans that are yelled and sung while the terraces and stands become streaked with the colour of enormous flags and banners in a festive and bubbly atmosphere.

There is even room for a fascinating museum inside this structure; the Milan & Inter Museum that jealously guards rare mementos witnessing to the achievements and to the stories of the football players of the two teams of Milan.
This museum is exclusive in its kind, not only because it offers original objects such as trophies, cups, shirts and memoirs but also because it is the only museum in Italy to have been built inside a stadium.

Yet the most exciting and complete experience is probably the guided tour inside this temple of football, a visit to the stands, the terraces, the changing rooms and the ground: a unique occasion to live the experiences of a champion.
