HOW TO GET HERE:
Placed in Via Santa Sofia 16, those coming from the central station just take the yellow metropolitan line to San Donato and get off at Crocetta or Missori stops;
BY PLANE:
from Linate, the most comfortable way to get here is by taxi which should cost approximately 20-22 Euro: If landing at Malpensa airport, there are three different ways to get to Hotel Canada:
1. private taxi. It is recommended to ask the cost first; in general, a legitimate fare is around 70-80 Euro.
2. By the express Milan train up to Cadorna station (for schedules, visit www.ferrovienord.it ); then, from Cadorna station, the Hotel can be reached within a few minutes by taking a taxi or bus No. 94, which stops right in front of the Hotel. 3. Take the shuttle (Malpensa shuttle) from Malpensa airport up to the central station; then, from the central station, get to the Hotel by taking the yellow metropolitan line to San Donato and get off at either Crocetta or Missori; another alternative is the taxi, which should cost around 15-20 Euro.
BY CAR:
once at the barrier, follow the indications for the Eastern ring road (straight direction), and exit after piazzale Corvetto. For a better route, visit the site www.autostrade.it
IF COMING FROM THE WEST: Take the A07 Milan-Genoa to Genoa Bolzaneto into Milan; once in Milan, take the Easter ring road for about 11 km; then, the A01 Milan-Naples in Milan West ring road connection into Milan; follow the A1-P.LE Corvetto link road into Milan.
IF COMING FROM THE NORTH: For those coming, for instance, from Lugano, take the Dolomites SS48, follow the Abetone del Brennero SS12, take the A22 Brennero-Modena in Egna Ora into Modena; follow the A04 Turin-Trieste into Milan, exit at Milan Eastern Ring Road, exit at Forlanini for the centre or exit at piazzale Corvetto
IF COMING FROM THE SOUTH: See information for those coming from the East:
IF COMING FROM THE SOUTH-EAST: Take A14 motorway to Bologna, then the A1 up to the barrier. Follow on the ring road to the centre and take Corvetto exit; then, follow straight up to Corso Lodi, pass through Piazza Medaglie D'oro and take Corso di Porta Romana. It is recommended to pay attention when reaching the Corso di Porta Romana since, when crossing this road, Via Francesco Sforza and Via Santa Sofia, turning left is forbidden (there are bus and taxi lanes and the corresponding cameras) to reach the hotel, so the crossing must be passed (a pharmacy will be on the left). Then, on the first road right after the crossing, turn left to Via Lentasio up to the first crossing and turn left at Via San Senatore and then quickly to the right (there will be a supermarket on the right). Travel this road to the end; at this point, Via Santa Sofia shall be found and the Hotel Canada will again be in view. Once the first traffic light is passed and right before the second traffic light, the left turn will now be allowed to take the road to the Hotel, this turning-point is in front of the post office.
IF COMING FROM THE NORTH-EAST: see indications for those coming from the north
VERY IMPORTANT - ECOPASS:
Please take into account that, in Milan, the Ecopass must be paid for polluting cars. The amount to be paid varies according to the type of car involved. For further information, call 02.02.02. Then, it will be necessary to acquire the ticket, and communicate the pin code within one day of entering the centre area. It is recommended to keep it or memorise the SMS theoretically sent as a confirmation of the executed payment. These tickets can be found in kiosks or tobacconists.
IF GOING TO:
LINATE AIRPORT: it can be comfortably reached by taxi in 15 minutes. It is 6 km from the Hotel.
MALPENSA AIRPORT: it can be reached in three different ways:
1. private taxi from the Hotel Canada directly to the airport. It is recommended to ask the cost first; in general, a just fare is around 70-80 Euro per flight segment. 2. taxi from the hotel to Cadorna station or bus No. 94 up to Cadorna station (the stop is right in front of the hotel); then, take the express Milan train at Cadorna station to the inside of Malpensa airport (see train schedules at www.ferrovienord.it) 3. Take the express Milan shuttle from the central station to the necessary terminal, to get to the central station, take a taxi or the yellow metropolitan line into Maciachini up to Crocetta or Missori stops.
CENTRAL STATION: If the Milan Central Station must be reached, there are two possibilities: 1. By taking the yellow metropolitan line (No. 3) from Crocetta or Missori into Maciachini directly to the central station. 2. By taxi from the Canada Hotel directly to the central station.
MOTORWAYS AND/OR RING ROADS: The motorway is about 15 minutes away. If permitted by traffic, just travel all along Corso di Porta Romana, which then becomes Corso Lodi up to Piazzale Lodi; then, the ring road leading to multiple directions can be found; for further information, visit the site www.autostrade.it
